Sr. Network Engineer - Broadband
The Sr. Network Engineer-Broadband is responsible for network planning and engineering of all Shentel broadband networks to include coax (HFC), RFoG, and fiber optic networks. The Sr. Network Engineer-Broadband will also be responsible for project management of major engineering initiatives as well as generating detailed engineering documentation to support the installation, configuration, and ongoing operations of the network.
a. Education: BS degree in a relevant engineering or technology field is desired. Other candidates with a strong technical background and substantial industry or military experience will be considered.
b. Experience Level:
i. 7 or more years of experience in the telecommunications industry is required
c. Special Requirements:
i. 5 or more years of experience in engineering or technical operations role
ii. Budgeting and financial analysis
iii. BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
iv. Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers BDS, BTS, BTCS, DVEP certification or equivalent knowledge
v. Strong project management experience
vi. Fiber engineering or construction background
d. Skill Requirements:
i. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
ii. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
iii. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
