General Purpose of Job:
The Program Specialist is responsible for the management and implementation of programs, projects and activities of the entity under the supervision of the Section Director as assigned.  Has production and oversight responsibility for the entity’s communications including the Section newsletter, weekly emails, event marketing materials, website content, social media content and membership materials.  Provides substantive support in the production of meetings, events, teleconferences, membership and outreach activities.  Works co-operatively with the Section’s Program Associate on projects as assigned.

 

Principal Duties/Job Responsibilities:
-Manages the day-to-day organization and implementation of one or more programs and projects, including drafting communications, editing web pages, designing brochures, drafting email messages, producing social media content, meeting and event materials.  This includes planning projects, obtaining authorization and ensuring compliance with ABA policies.

-Analyzes program and project performance throughout the process to ensure projects move forward in a productive manner.

-Serves as a point of contact for projects, both internally and externally, including meeting and event planning, registrations, communications, and customer service.

-Communicates with member leaders, staff and customers, including reporting on progress and results.

-Coordinates with team member and others as appropriate to the project.

-Provides orientation and ongoing mentoring as needed.

-Other duties as assigned.
 

Education:
Bachelor's degree. 
 
Necessary Skills:

-Learns technology quickly, able to multi-task and proofread effectively, and accurate with keyboard entry.

-Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud, Photo Editing, Brochure Design and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, Instagram) and website content creation.

-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, comfortable speaking in person to members and prospects.

-Customer-focused service mindset, willingness to work in a small team, and complete tasks under tight deadlines.

-Meeting planning, registration and customer service experience.
