The Business Analyst will be responsible for sourcing data, creating and maintaining reports, and analyzing operational performance.  Internally this includes the creation of insightful visualizations, publishing of required daily, weekly, and monthly reports and scorecards and the timely communication of important trends and suspicious outliers.  Externally this includes providing reports for daily, weekly and monthly reporting for clients, as requested by operational leaders.  In addition, he/she will support the identification of best practices through rigorous analysis and research.  To effectively perform in this role, he/she will require building a network of close working relationships with Senior Leadership, Operations Directors, and Program Managers, as well as others across the organization. 


The Business Analyst will possess a strong analytical skillset and proven experience validating and maintaining large data sets. He/she will be able to understand, analyze and synthesize: call center operations metrics, general business formulas, financial statements, regression
analysis, and large data sets.  This role requires a thorough understanding of data analysis and models. He/she will need to have strong working knowledge of all common analysis tools and formulae, as well as proven experience writing SQL and VBA.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be


  • Design clear, concise data visualization that maximizes audience

  • Solves complex problems by taking a new perspective using existing

  • Forecast operational performance through the proactive use of predictive

  • Validates and maintains large data sets

  • Interprets internal and external business issues and recommends

  • Perform operational and financial analyses; proactively identifying and
    communicating trends, as well as suspicious outliers

  • Proactively enhance reporting capabilities and push towards automation wherever

  • Clearly communicate new features, conduct needed maintenance, and
    provide technical support on reports and dashboards

  • Routinely pull data from various sources as needed to generate reports

  • Collaborate with operational leaders, as well as clients, to generate
    and/or modify reports to highlight potential root causes to key issues as they

  • Provide analytical support on special projects around the organization
    on a one off basis

  • Be able to consistently manage their own tasks and workload, and
    proactively report status

  • Regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to
    agreed-upon schedule of availability are conditions of employment and essential

    Although this position will
    not have responsibility for direct reports, the position requires active
    leadership in the way of supporting strategic initiatives as well as active
    personal development and application of Six Sigma methodologies.

    degree from a four-year College or University required; M
    ajor or focus/concentration in Business Administration,
    Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics or Engineering is preferred.  5 years of proven analytical acumen in a
    professional or academic environment required. Call center experience



    This position requires an advanced
    knowledge in computer technology that includes: Windows, Excel, SQL query
    writing (SQL Server), Microsoft ETL (SSIS preferred), Web Services, Visual
    Basic, DataMart, and the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite.  Experience with common reporting and
    dashboard tools is required.
      Individuals must possess the ability to learn and understand new software
    and other technology applications as introduced by Clients and Alta Resources.



Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common
scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to professionally respond to internal
and external inquiries through written or oral communication. Ability to
effectively present information to business leaders, clients, top management,
public groups, and/or boards of directors.



Ability to work with
mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and
fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions,
percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Familiarity with
Six Sigma methodologies, as well as an understanding of how to calculate common
statistical tests and interpret results is required.



Ability to
apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of
intellectual and practical problems. 
Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific
equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract
and concrete variables.




While performing the duties
of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for up to eight hours,
and stand. Manual dexterity which allows the individual to use hands to type on
a keyboard, use a mouse and write are required, as is the ability to talk, and
hear.   The employee must occasionally
lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
