General Position Scope:
The Internal Audit Department is an independent activity operating within the Corporation at the direction   of the Board of Directors and reporting to the Audit Committee; Its objective is to provide accurate and timely analyses and reports in an effort to assist management and the Board in discharging their duties and responsibilities to stockholders, customers, and to the public; 

Duties and Responsibilities:
Review Bank policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls; 
Establish and conduct annual audits based on the control risks of the organization, which includes:
Developing efficient and comprehensive audit programs; Performing operational and compliance audits; Auditing assets, liabilities, income, expenses and related records through application of sound auditing principles; Preparing the audit reports identifying weaknesses in controls, procedures or operations; Recommending changes in procedures and techniques to correct deficiencies; Prepare work papers in accordance with audit standards which record and summarize audit procedures performed; Manage individual audit processes and other auditors associated with the audit process; Evaluate the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the systems of control within the bank and the quality of ongoing operations; Discuss findings and recommendations with area management and division management; Conduct any special examinations or procedures at the request of the Board or senior management;
Support the functions of the external auditors which may include independent auditing firms and government auditors; As necessary, provide subject matter expertise to other audit team members;
Act as a mentor to less experienced auditors; Assist the Director of Internal Audit in the investigation of suspected fraudulent activities within the Corporation; Assist the Director of Internal Audit in the development of an annual audit risk matrix; Assist the Director of Internal Audit in development of an annual audit schedule;
Maintain a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc.; Complete required compliance training and adhere to the Bank’s standard of conduct;
Performance standards include adequate procedures are in place relative to FDIC, State and Federal Reserve examinations; adequate controls are in place to protect the assets of the bank and customers; 
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities include: follow-up audits to determine implementation of recommendations and appraise the adequacy of corrective action; establish and maintain effective working relationships with all BankPlus employees; fulfill necessary requirements to maintain professional certifications; perform other duties as assigned, make referrals to the Mortgage Center and Wealth Management; 

Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Accounting, Banking or Finance
Must possess a CIA, CISA, or CPA professional certification or any IIA sponsored certificate and be in good standing with appropriate governing board or organization;
Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following banking areas: Deposit operations, lending operations, IT, financial reporting, trust, cash management, or regulatory compliance;  
5-10 years of similar or related experience in banking, finance or lending process audit 
General computer and typing experience with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Extensive reading as needed
Ability to make difficult decisions and handle multiple tasks
