JOB SUMMARY:




Receiving, cataloging,
labeling and transporting pallets of inserts into ASRS system.Unloading and
introducing newsprint rolls from trucks and box cars into storage






ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:




1.
Operate newsprint and
pallet handling equipment as necessary, including fork lift, clamp truck, and
pallet jack.


2.
Responsible for
processing newsprint rolls, preprint pallets, and other inventories stored in
the Material Handling Center .


3.
Responsible for
providing Quality Assurance with proper samples of newsprint for testing.


4.
Accurately prepare and
promptly submit all required reports and correspondence.


5.
Responsible for
controlling newsprint damage as it relates to the Material Handling Department.


6.
Responsible for
maintaining a safe department in accordance with OWH safety policy/practice.


7.
Unload and/or load
vehicles with newsprint rolls and other products.


8.
Responsible for all
non-technical maintenance and housekeeping of the Material Handling Center .


9.
Responsible for
retrieving, processing, and maintaining an adequate supply of “slave pallets”.


10.
Responsible for
effectively communicating and interacting with internal customers of the
Advertising and Production divisions.


11.
Responsible for
effectively communicating and interacting with external customers of the other
Newspapers and Printing and delivery companies.


12.
Must understand the
nature of deadlines and compliance with them.


13.
Help when needed
inserting and packaging in the Mailroom


14.
Comply with all safety
guidelines.

EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE:




1.High School diploma or GED.




2.1-2 years of production experience, preferably in a newspaper
setting




3.Combination of education and experience
