Assistant in Training/Crew Foreman

The Assistant in Training/Crew Foreman will be working with the lead assistant to continue to give the members the best possible player experience. Everyday tasks such as spraying, irrigation repair, fertilizing, pest management, and staff management are all key parts in making sure the course meets the standards of the members. A successful applicant should have the desire to become a superintendent and have a strong passion for golf. The purpose of this position is to mold the next generation of superintendents to promote from within.

 

Some responsibilities include making regular inspections of the golf course, supervising the watering, fertilizing and spraying of tees, greens, fairways and related areas, as well as supervising the daily mowing operations and maintenance programs. He or she will assist in planning and directing the construction of the greens, tees, fairways, sand traps, cart paths, shelters, bridges and underpasses, assisting in keeping all pertinent records, prepares pesticide and fertilizer applications, plans and prepares the course for any tournaments and willing to perform as needed all tasks related to maintaining the golf course.

Requirements include a two-year Certificate/Associate's degree in Golf Course Management or in the process of completing one. Must be computer literate and completing a MD IIIC Pesticide Applicator license within 6 months.
