Position:                                 Field Supervisor

Department:                          Grounds

Reporting Relationship:       Head Groundskeeper

Work Schedule:                    Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (as well as, all stadium events (which may include nights,
    holidays, and/or weekends)

Status:                                    Full-Time (Exempt)

 

Position Summary

This position is responsible for general maintenance and upkeep of the playing surfaces on the Bank of America Stadium campus and it’s surrounding components.  Responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to, daily turf and water management, event and game preparation, as well as, short and long-term maintenance planning.  This is a supervisory role that oversees a small staff.  This position reports directly to the Head Groundskeeper.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform testing for fields to satisfy NFL requirements and report data to the League
  • Manage a crew of employees for daily duties and event preparation
  • Carry out tasks and maintenance schedules as assigned by the Head Groundskeeper
  • Proactively address any field issues and properly record and report issues to the Head Groundskeeper
  • Layout all markings for football and soccer events
  • Coordinate crew in painting of the fields
  • Stencil and paint logos on the field
  • Assist with maintaining the practices fields
  • Assist in field prep and maintenance for training camp 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a degree in Turfgrass management or Horticulture
  • Must be proficient in field painting, field layout and measurement, and field preparation for events
  • Experience with the use, calibration, and application of pesticides and fertilizers
  • Must have experience using and maintaining various types of equipment used for field and landscape maintenance
  • Must have a deep knowledge of pesticide and fertilizer application methods and spraying equipment calibration
  • Must have a working knowledge of Sportsfield management
  • Must have a working knowledge of cultural aspects of Turfgrass management
  • Must have (or be willing to obtain) and maintain a pesticide applicators license
  • Must have a knowledge of irrigation system operation, repair, and maintenance 
  • Must be flexible to work evenings and/or weekends and all Carolina Panthers and Stadium events, including events held on weekends, nights, and holidays when necessary 
  • Must pass pre-employment screens

Physical Requirements

  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Sitting and working at desk on a computer
  • Walking throughout the stadium and stadium grounds
  • Lift at least 50 pounds
  • Operating heavy machinery  

 

Work Environment

  • This job operates mostly outside and in/around a stadium facility, grounds, and fields, which may include inclement and extreme weather conditions.
