About the Position
The Channel Marketing Manager, reporting to the Vice President of Field and Event Marketing, is accountable for planning and implementing strategic marketing plans targeting the channel partners that make up the Cyxtera Partner Network. This position is responsible for the development of channel messaging, positioning, key differentiators, as well as the execution of go to market strategies. A significant element of the role is working closely with the VP of Channel Strategy and Sales and Channel reps on joint enablement activities with key channel partners and thought leadership opportunities supporting the growth of Cyxtera’s channel program.
This position will work with the marketing teams to tune assets and campaigns for the channel that enable new logo growth and revenue generation aligned to new and existing products being sold in the channel as well as offering strategies and increased brand mindshare of the channel.
This role requires one to collaborate and work closely with a cross-functional team of sales, partners, media relations and product marketing to ensure that the Cyxtera value proposition within the channel is clearly articulated and understood by our partners and by Cyxtera Channel Reps. The Channel Marketing Manager will serve as a liaison between the Cyxtera Channel organization and other cross-functional disciplines within Cyxtera, this is a critical requirement as Cyxtera is aggressively growing its Channel Organization.
Team with Cyxtera marketing groups to create differentiated messaging that resonates within the channel.
Work with channel sales leadership to establish budget and partner prioritization for each fiscal year
Provide input to tradeshow managers on behalf of the channel partners on show objectives and participation
Execute events within the Channel and report on ROI for those events to Cyxtera leadership
Develop and implement tactical marketing plans against defined budgets to achieve business area objectives for products and services enabling profitable revenue
Help create collateral material, web content and social media content for the channel in support of lead generation and branding efforts
Meet business goals and strategy targets through the efficient and effective development of marketing plans, brand messaging, thought leadership opportunities and advocacy
Gather voice of market and voice of channel to enhance our positioning and strengthen our relationships with the channel partners
Work with branding teams to ensure that channel marketing material adheres to Cyxtera brand standards
Ensure marketing plans are consistent with Cyxtera’s business strategic growth plans, branding objectives, social media objectives, vision and mission
Up to 25% travel required
Experience and Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
5-10 years of deep experience as a channel marketing manager in the technology sector (data center, cloud and cyber security).
Past experience managing marketing and MDF budgets ideally within a channel marketing setting.
A strong understanding of the distribution channels for the industry.
Experience with PRM portals such as Impartner and Salesforce
Project management experience would be a definite advantage.
The ability to manage small teams of people and influence senior staff is essential.
