Reporter, Quality of Life/Central PA
Franklin County, Pa., Quality of Life/Central Pa. Issues Reporter
The USA Today NETWORK seeks a digitally focused reporter to help expose the issues that threaten the quality of life in Franklin County, Pa., and to shine a light on solutions proven to work here and across central Pennsylvania. Your work will primarily serve the communities of Waynesboro, Greencastle and Chambersburg, but you will be part of a regional team that collaborates daily on coverage that serves the 2 million people who live in central Pa. You also will work with journalists across the Northeast and the nation as we provide grassroots coverage that fuels the nation's largest newspaper company. Our journalists are helping to build the next generation of news, serving readers in whatever way works best for the readers. That means we write stories and take photos and video. We use an array of social media platforms to stay engaged with our communities. We focus on under-served and emerging audiences, helping to bridge cultural gaps. We are community journalists who pool our resources to serve the state and the nation.
We are eager to learn more about you and how you fit this role. When you apply, don’t limit your upload to a resume; show us what you’ve done. To do so, put together a single document file that includes the following, in this order:
· Your resume – one to two pages
· A cover letter that outlines how you would approach the job
· Links to 3-6 online samples of your work. Show us what you’ve written, produced, or had a hand in that best reflects what you can do in your desired role.
It is important that these items be assembled into a single document and uploaded in PDF format. Completing these steps will ensure that your application receives the highest consideration.
To join this team, send resume and work samples to Randy Parker, Central Pa. Regional Editor, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
