Position: Research Analyst
Location: Pittsford, NY or Any HB office
Description: Reporting to the Chief Knowledge Officer, the Research Analyst will conduct legal, business and other non-legal research on behalf of legal staff and clients. This position can be based out of any HB office location, with a preference for upstate offices within driving distance to Pittsford where the Knowledge Services team is based.
Performs comprehensive, sophisticated legal, business and other non-legal research and preliminary analysis in an innovative and timely manner for attorneys, clients and staff
Independently analyzes and synthesizes information from diverse sources to solve problems creatively
Participates on a team of researchers who collaborate to provide cost effective information solutions
Provides educational instruction and support in legal research and information literacy
Visits practice offices regularly to provide education instruction and promote efficient use of research tools
Serves as library liaison to practice groups
Works on special projects as needed
MLS or equivalent advanced degree required
Minimum 5 years’ experience in library environment preferred
Demonstrated aptitude for research and analysis
Well developed research skills
Experience with a wide variety of electronic resources such as the Internet, Lexis, Westlaw, and other standard law library applications
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication
Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint applications
Military experience a plus
