ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This exciting role will join a team pushing the state of the art in the processing of advanced III-V material (GaAs, InP, InGaAs, etc) for the fabrication of infrared detector arrays. This position involves hands-on semiconductor wafer fabrication within a class 10 clean room. You will be developing and owning new processes and routes as well as implementing existing ones. Use design of experiments to come up with solution paths for open-ended customer-driven challenges. Troubleshoot unforeseen issues, suggest and develop improvements upon current approaches. Thoroughly document all process steps and train other engineers in their execution. Collect inspection, metrology and test data, and interpret results. Present solutions to internal and external customers. Suggest methods and designs to HRL project managers.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED: We value your 5 or more years of experience with microelectronics semiconductor fabrication and wafer handling (RIE, wet etch, lithography, ALD, PECVD, plating, metal and dielectric deposition, etc) and metrology (optical microscope inspection, SEM, profilometry, AFM). Candidates should possess a proven track record of developing solutions to process development problems. Familiarity with design of experiments is desired. Experience designing a process route and composing travelers is desired. Familiarity with CAD mask layout design is a plus. Statistical analysis and interpretation of collected process data is a plus.
