Investment Operations Manager

The Indiana University Foundation invites business- minded, analytical professionals for the position of Investment Operations Manager. The Investments team at the Indiana University Foundation oversees the Pooled Long-Term Fund assets (commonly known as “The Endowment”), Charitable Remainder Trust, and Charitable Gift Annuity assets, and processes gifts of securities, all in support of Indiana University.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Indiana University and the IU Foundation, and to be a part of the 15th ranked largest endowment in the nation among public universities. The endowment is also in the top 5 percent of all U.S. and Canadian colleges and universities in the market value of its endowment, according to the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) 2019 NACUBOTIAA Study of Endowments (NTSE).

The Investments Operations Manager is a crucial asset to the success of the endowment and of the investments team, being accountable for keeping complete record of all investments and information for monthly accounting, annual audit, and investment purposes. In addition to record maintenance, the operations manager monitors and reconciles all internal trading activity, and acts as a point of contact and subject matter expert for the department when it comes to the Gifting of Securities process.

Along with these duties, the Investments Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the leadership and team by assisting with rigorous due diligence and ongoing monitoring of existing investment relationships, including reviewing reports, attending calls and meetings and documenting details on updates regularly. This position requires a true team player who is willing to jump in as needed to provide support, and to serve as a primary point of contact for the investments team. Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree is required. Finance, Economics or related majors are preferred for consideration.

Minimum of 2 years of investment related work experience required; 4+ years of investment or operational accounting work preferred

CFA candidates or charter holders distinction encouraged

Knowledge and Skills Required

·         Highly organized and able to multi-task

·         Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite

·         Ability to gather, organize and analyze data using MS Excel

·         Ability to work independently and collaboratively to produce highly accurate work

·         Knowledge of financial markets, investment portfolio strategy and endowment management

·         Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills

·         Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with investment managers and investment committees

·         Intellectually curious and inquisitive
