Position Summary

A ground floor opportunity for a sales leader who is passionate about Rigid Packaging with a well-developed network of key decision makers in distribution and deep working knowledge of products, markets and needs, as well as selling to distribution from the OEM side.    Also responsible for growing our proprietary products business rapidly and profitably through distribution channels and online marketing to meet planned sales and margin targets.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with major Distributors to define “rules of engagement” around the OEM customers they sell to in order to avoid conflict with our own OEM sales Business Unit.
  • Define a successful distribution channel sales strategy that integrates with our OEM sales channel strategy.
  • Develop and execute new business development plan to support Alltrista’s sales growth
  • Manage a process driven workflow, including Prospecting, Value Proposition, Quoting, Pipeline, Execution.
  • Understand and apply “value selling” to optimize pricing and overcome objections; includes developing and maintaining top level relationships (VITO) with new customers to position self as a trusted advisor
  • Partner collaboratively with cross functional teams to quote and bring in new business; and to create ‘raving fan’ customers on new programs; also prepare and present customer and corporate presentations
  • Understand the company’s strengths to actively leverage them into value propositions that meet customer’s needs. 

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Pre-existing high-level relationships with major distributors for rigid packaging to drive sales growth.
  • Deep working knowledge of rigid packaging distribution marketplace, pricing and products.
    1. closures, bottles, dosage cups and lip balm packaging needs in the distribution channel.
  • Well-developed network of key decision makers and ability to negotiate with senior leaders; established, positive relationships with leaders in target industry
  • 10-15 years of sales or marketing experience representing manufacturers in distribution channel for rigid packaging for medical, nutrition and CPG.
  • Passionate about the rigid packaging business.
  • Customer centric outlook with a well-developed understanding of what it takes to build raving fan customers
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering or Science degree in related field or equivalent.
  • Strong critical thinking, planning, relationship management and problem prevention/solving skills.
  • The demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary for supervision and for interaction with other employees.
  • Strong ability to utilize today’s computer technology and software in the execution of his / her job performance for the use of communication, planning, analysis, reporting and management.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting at workstation approximately 85 percent of work time.  Standing and walking approximately 15 percent of work time.
  • Must be able to travel 70 percent of work time.
  • Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.
  • Typical office environment with shelves overhead and above work surfaces.
