ABOUT THE JOB
The Westchester Avenue Community Residence (Bronx, NY) provides family-oriented and supportive Child and Teen Services to boys and girls, ages of 15-18 years’ old who are struggling with a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses, emotional crises, mental health, and behavioral issues. Under their individualized service plans, youth receive comprehensive clinical treatment and education, and are able to develop independent living skills and adaptive coping strategies for managing of their emotional and behavioral issues in order transition back into their home communities.
The registered nurse (RN) at Westchester Ave CR is responsible for the complete nursing care and the performing of all routine medical procedures within the scope of the nursing practice for the clients under their charge. The RN generally reports to the Nursing Supervisor, however, in all matters of medication is supervised by the attending physician or administers the medication in line with an external physician’s orders.
TO QUALIFY
The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented nurses of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:
- RN or BSN in nursing and New York State registration is required
- 1 year of experience in a residential setting or in the mental health field strongly preferred.
