The Immigration Paralegal will provide general immigration and corporate support to attorneys across multiple office locations and will interact with external clients as well as internal support staff. This is a nonexempt administrative position that reports to the Office Administrator and assigned attorneys. There are no direct reports to this position. The Paralegal will work a regular schedule as determined by the Office Administrator/HR and/or the assigned attorneys. The typical schedule will consist of 7.5 hours per day equating to 37.5 hours per week. Additional hours (including overtime) will be required on occasion. This role can sit in one of four office locations: Charleston, SC; Raleigh, NC; Atlanta, GA; or, Washington, DC.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions of this position include preparation and filing of a wide variety of non-immigrant, and immigrant employment petitions, family petitions, visa applications, PERM labor certification applications, applications for adjustment of status, and applications for U.S. citizenship.
Ideal candidates should have 5+ years of business immigration experience preparing and handling a variety of employment based non-immigrant petitions and immigrant petitions, PERM labor certifications, visa applications and applications for adjustment of status. The candidate should possess strong writing skills, experience with an immigration based forms and document management system, have excellent case management and organizational skills and be able to work independently.
A Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. Experience with the Law Logix immigration system and foreign language skills are a plus.
