Job Summary: 

To provide value-added fundamental and technical financial analysis and tools for the evaluation of all aspects of Purdue's internal risk management. Responsible for day to day operations of Treasury (Cash Management), Risk Management, and Insurance functions. Serve as the key liaison with external banks, insurance brokers, and in-house insurance counsel on providing the insurance program for Purdue.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Daily cash management operations, including wires and ACH requests

  • Ensure the continued, accurate operation of the company’s treasury workstation, balance reporting systems and other financial information systems

  • Responsible for cash forecasting model and daily/monthly cash reporting

  • Maintain policy and procedures for cash operations and short-term investments

  • Open/Close/change corporate bank and cash accounts and manage the KYC (Know Your Customer) process

  • Manage issuance and maintenance of LOCs (if any required)

  • Develop, implement, and manage plan for insurance renewals (general liability and product, workers’ compensation and others)

  • Maintain bank or broker relationships

  • Evaluate appropriate balance between insurance, self-insurance, loss control and safety programs and adjust accordingly

  • Manage and maintain insurance program

  • Review contracts and agreements for risk control and insurance compliance

  • Build and manage claims database

  • Periodic review of claims to analyze risk occurrences, root causes, or trends that could be mitigated or transferred

  • Maintain effective relationships with one or more insurance brokers with a goal to control insurance broker fees and maintain competitive insurance premium rates.

  • Provide ad-hoc, effective analyses on increasingly complex insurance topics such as product liability insurance, captive insurance, etc.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related field

  • 7-10 years business experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years cash management, insurance, and broad treasury experience


Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Keen analytical skills, strategic thinking and sound business judgment are critical.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to influence decisions at senior management level are also important.

  • Able to maintain cross functional relationships with numerous stakeholders throughout the organization. Finance and legal work very closely within the domain of insurance.

  • Required knowledge of the risk management process, principles of accounting and finance, and risk-control.

  • Prior experience with insurance protection for pharmaceutical companies would be ideal.
