SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for leading and developing the Field Service teams to include project planning, coordinating and managing the day-to-day operations while delivering best in class field services and fleet optimizations that deliver profitable sales and client satisfaction.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and implementation of the field service sales and operations plan.
  • Manage level 2 leaders who are directly responsible for field service technicians focused on the core product line and the upfit product line
  • Effectively manage Field Service Team responsibilities so that all requirements for cost, schedule, safety, quality and environmental responsibilities are met.
  • Available at any time, day or night, seven days a week, to field questions and concerns from team members and customers.
  • Work with customers to create a win-win outcome for every Field Service project.
  • Manage all aspects of the Field Service Teams when teams are in the field.
  • Identify and amass tools needed to complete each Field Service project. Manage tool and equipment maintenance and the tool inventory control system for all Field Service tools and equipment.
  • Perform all duties related to Field Service Teams for multiple active projects with no detrimental impact on any one project.
  • Act as point person for Field Service Teams and on-site customer communication.
  • Able to coach and mentor all positions within a Field Service Team.
  • Lead the planning, communication, and execution of the Field Service Team schedule to all internal and external customers.
  • Prioritize work to ensure tasks are completed in the most productive sequence.
  • Ensure that maximum value is derived from all projects by maintaining the balance between efficiency and quality.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of the Field Service model by drawing on experience and industry best practices.
  • Continuously promote and engage in behaviors that drive improvement.
  • Manage logistics to stabilize cost in all forms, including team travel, freight and equipment transportation.
  • Build sound relationships with all customers both internal and external.
  • Complete the evaluation process for Field Service Team members.
  • Solve complex problems that arise within Field Service Teams with minimal supervision.
  • Monitor staffing levels and productivity for each Field Service Team, including assisting in the preparation of business plans related to staffing when appropriate.
  • Lead the monitoring of departmental performance objectives as they relate to Field Service Teams. Further, identifying and executing corrective action plans when the department’s performance falls short of the goal.
  • Able to travel on short notice. During travel, able to professionally represent Utilimaster.
  • All other tasks assigned
