SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the day-to-day deployment of post-delivery service information including, Shyft brand specific owners’ manuals, parts catalogs and service part diagrams, projects and processes consumed by internal and external stakeholders in the context of Aftermarket and Product Support. This role will be responsible for cohesive and accurate development of technical content and technical publication processes. This position requires a deep understanding of all current product structures, engineering processes, data sources, and a sustaining awareness to areas of the business which have an impact on the technical publications activities and products including product recalls.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the technical publications roadmap including driving project plans and team members to deliver documentation on time and cost effectively.
  • Manage a team of technical writers and illustrators to develop, plan and deliver Shyft product specific technical documentation and end user documentation.
  • Develop and manage strategy to write, edit and maintain technical documentation content.
  • Coordinate creating consistent monthly status dashboards for all technical documentation for presentation to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Manage simultaneous documentation projects involving other team members and work with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Manage all aspects of parts readiness such that a part is fully prepared for commerce prior to demand.
  • Manage final execution process of the eCommerce platform, part photos and service issued part numbers posted to the website.
  • Coordinate planning and performance of activities to complete the creation and publishing of customer facing technical documentation including, part manuals, service instructions, and product recall instructions.
  • Development and continuous improvement of post-delivery information in the shortest path possible without sacrificing quality.
  • Work with existing and proposed third-party service providers for language translation, website interface, pasteboard hot-spot implementation and other eCommerce and cloud-based services.
  • Coordinate and incorporate data for tracking, reporting and streamlining inputs and executables.
  • Understand and work cohesively in PSR environment to expedite product service bulletins and recalls.
  • All other tasks and responsibilities assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess a strong product knowledge of the operation and assembly of Shyft products.
  • Dedication to quality technical publication deliverables.
  • Requires knowledge of engineering tools, processes, data structures, and data sources.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify and anticipate perceived value for Shyft internal and external customers.
  • Understand the impact of software skills in Office, SolidWorks, Composer, and Adobe Suite.
  • Understand detailed product information flow and structure of bills of materials and network systems.
  • Familiar with FMVSS requirements and part tracking systems like ATA Vehicle Maintenance Reporting (VMRS) codes is a plus.
