The Payroll Administrator position is responsible for maintaining and supporting payroll processes.


  • Perform payroll-related data entry functions such as processing new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, direct deposit changes, etc. in both Ceridian Dayforce and Kronos
  • Process and review trial payroll for accuracy according to established payroll schedule prior to submitting trial payroll for approval
  • Review post processing payroll reports
  • Provide all required payroll reports to finance after each payroll and at month-end
  • Prepare manual checks as needed
  • Create ad-hoc reports from payroll and time systems
  • Maintain employee payroll records for PTO plans such as vacation, purchased vacation and paid absence time
  • Respond to employee inquiries concerning pay deductions, wage garnishments, child support payments, and employment verifications.
  • Reconcile timecards for contract employees and send to staffing agencies to ensure contract employees are paid correctly
  • Assist with the development and implementation of payroll practices, policies, and procedures
  • Support payroll-related special projects, as required, such as headcount and budgets
  • Other tasks as assigned


  • Associate degree, three to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Multi-state tax experience required
  • Previous experience processing multiple payrolls with multiple frequencies with 500+ associates
  • Self-motivated with ability to stay on task
  • Innovative team player
  • Intermediate computer skills are required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, pivot tables, data analysis, etc.)
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
  • Previous experience using Ceridian Dayforce/UltiPro or similar systems preferred
  • Prior Kronos experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
