Program Aide/Virtual Learning - Memphis, TN
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Program Aide/Virtual Learning for the Kentucky and Tennessee Division, located in Memphis, TN.
Provides care services for minors aged 4 years to 13 years. These services include but not limited to personal care, hygiene, learning and development activities and specialized programs; prepares and maintains records; maintains cleanliness and orderliness of childcare property.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Attends and participates in regularly scheduled in-service training sessions. Serves as a substitute teacher for other classes when needed. Assists with transporting children whenever needed. Ensures the safety and protection of children at all times. Collects, reviews, and reports monthly statistical data representing department services; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same. Ability to operate and generally maintain all office equipment. This would include, but is not limited to the copier, fax machine, and computers. Have an essential proficiency with Windows & Microsoft Office, which includes Microsoft Word and Excel. Have an essential proficiency with KidCheck and CCMS. Ability to interact professionally with all contact with the public and Salvation Army Officers and staff. Abide by Salvation Army Policies and Procedures and have an acceptance of Salvation Army philosophy and mission
Education and Experience
High School diploma; G.E.D. required, and 6 months experience providing adult supervision to children preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Valid State Driver’s License, CPR/First Aid Blood Borne Pathogens
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to observe children and ensure their safety. Ability to lift, hold, and carry toddlers on a regular basis. Ability to swim. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light (less than 25lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility; duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting. Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
