he Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has an opening for a Personal Trainer for The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Greenville, SC.


Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Wellness Director the Personal Trainer will perform fitness assessments, provide personalized training sessions to help Kroc Center members achieve their fitness goals. Conduct a risk assessment and health consultation maintaining a high level of  confidentiality. Design and implement an individualized wellness plan. Demonstrate and coach members on proper use of cardiovascular and strength equipment, promoting safe technique and form when weight training. Emphasize wellness area policies and conduct to members; Act as a liaison between clients and the Kroc Center;Provide additional resources to members such as nutritional/dietary information.  


Education and Experience  High school Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and two years experience working as a certified Personal Trainer or Fitness Instructor or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge,skills, and abilities. Current personal certifications such as ACSM, ACE or NSCA. Maintain an approved driver status per terms and conditions of the Drivers Qualification Manual found within the USA Southern Territory Workers Together Employee Manual. Current CPR/1st/ AED


Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Knowledge of proper free weight usage. Knowledge of fitness equipment;Ability to demonstrate all fitness equipment accurately and safely; ability to recognize signs of exercise-induced stress and react appropriately;ability to perform life saving techniques,CPR and first aid procedures in emergency situations. Ability to meet attendance requirements; ability to read,write, and communicate the English language; Must be able to lift,maneuver and squat a "Heavy" level of dead weight, in excess of 100 lbs,for up to 50% of a scheduled work shift. Work is performed in an environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with lifting, pulling,bending ,stooping and sitting on floor.
