The individual in this position is responsible for operating a variety of equipment in the Cellar. He/she will handle chemical additions, sanitation procedures and barrel movements. Communication and cooperation with co-workers and supervisors is essential to this position.


  • Operate at least three of the following: Velo, plate filter, lees filter, winepress, crusher/de-stemmer or heat exchanger

  • Understand the effects of wine processing on wine. Demonstrate and use knowledge during the course of the workday

  • Centrifuge and Cross Flow operation

  • Perform the duties of Cellar Intern and Cellar Worker as necessary

  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor or Cellar Master

  • This job description reflects management’s assignment of general functions; it does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned


  • Must be 21 years or older at time of hire
  • Must have a minimum of 3 harvest season’s previous experience
  • Must have experience as a Cellar Intern or a Cellar Worker to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfill this position

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is desired


  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
