Staff Accountant
Wheeler Fleet Solutions is a
supply chain leader, delivering innovative automotive parts, engineering, and
fleet management solutions to global customers.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF
This
position is primarily responsible for assisting with general accounting duties,
research, and analysis within the accounting department. The position will
support month end, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and costing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF
1.
Assist
with oversight and assure completion of day-to-day accounts payable expense functions
·
Ensure daily
Accounts Payable expense activity is recorded correctly and timely in the
financial ledger systems
·
Monitor expense
activity to ensure accurate financial statements
·
Ensure vendors
are paid timely by managing weekly check runs/wires/ACH payments
·
Ensure A/P
accruals are properly entered into the general ledger for monthly financial
statement close processes
·
Accounts Payable
Aging reports are prepared accurately and reviewed monthly for expense activity
·
Assist with Preparation
all 1099 information for submission to vendors (annually)
·
Review inventory
shortages

Work with
external and internal auditors
KEY MEASURES:

Clean audit
related to area of responsibility

Gather necessary
information and answer related questions
·
Promote the
continued integrity and reputation of company
3.
Assist with
month end close and general accounting processes such as accounts receivable,
accounts payable, and costing
·
Assist with journal
entry completion
·
Assist with
balance sheet reconciliations
·
Ensure assigned
reconciliations are accurate and complete
·
Analyze and
review general ledger and sub-ledger accounts
·
Participate in
preparation of complete set of SOX documentation monthly.
·
Assist in
generating fiscal reports/binders monthly according to VSE financial close
requirement deadlines.
4.
Internal
SOX procedures
·
Follow all SOX
and internal controls procedures.
·
Participate in review
and update SOX risk and control matrix as needed.

Handle
special projects assigned from management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
BS
or BA, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or
equivalent training and experience.
Experience/Training
Five
years related experience/training in general accounting functions and month end
close procedures; preferably in a wholesale/retail or manufacturing environment
which includes work with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
